Joy – Prystawa Family

It was a little windy and chilly but we enjoyed meeting up with the Prystawa family at Borden park.  We found out when we were there that Grandma/Mom was having a very special birthday and the family pics were part of a gift to her.  Thank you so much for including us in this special moment!

A good looking family aren’t they.

Love this candid pic of Grandma/Mom.

You may recognize this beautiful lady as she was one of the awesome biker babes that we photographed not too long ago.

Another adorable couple…Mom and Dad aka Grandma and Grandpa.

The 2 sisters were so much fun and little balls of energy.  I love these funny faces that they made for us.

My favorite shot from the session.

Adorable – Maya

Sweet little Maya had a fantastic first birthday party and I was honored to be the one chosen to document it for her.  It was my first time meeting her family and it was really a pleasure.  With a beautiful cake, a magician, a jumpy castle, candy table, cotton candy machine, luncheon, face painter and balloon animal maker the party was hopping the whole 4 hours!  Maya took it all in and seemed to enjoy the party along with a quick cat nap cause of course a princess needs her beauty sleep.  The Mirage Banquet Hall looked great and it was a wonderful venue for this celebration filled with many members of Maya’s family along with alot of her friends.

Her short stint with the crown cause Maya truly was the princess of the day.

Checking out the fantastic cake and balloon display.

Getting a little assistance so she can walk around to check things out.

The Magician had a birthday cake pop out from no where but Maya just thought he was interesting and wanted to see him up close.

So much going on can get really tiring – Grammas are great for cuddles while you have a quick little rest.

Maya truly loved all the balloons at her party and chewing on them was one of her favorite things to do.

Excitement – Kristena & Brian

We met up at Fort Edmonton Park with Kristena and Brian.  We’ll be shooting their wedding next month and it was great to get to know them a little better before their big day.

Love this pic of Kristena and Brian walking up to us, coffee in hand.

I love the lines of light in this pic.

The natural texture in this photo is real…no photoshop work needed here.

How great is this photo is of the two of them?  They look fantastic.

These guys fit together really well.

We saw the light coming through the window of this church and knew right away that it would be beautiful.

Adorable – Jayden also guest starring Nolan

Jayden has turned One!  The first boy to graduate from our Baby program here at Creationsphoto and what a joy it has been to photograph him throughout this time.  I’m looking forward to seeing him again for some more family pics next year :)   His buddy Nolan was visiting him during our shoot and I enjoyed visiting with Nolan’s Mom and Dad who happen to be one of our past bridal couples.  After they headed out we had Jayden do his first official cake smashing using a fantastic cake that Mommy and Grandma made.  It was so much fun, thank you guys for including me in this very special time of your lives.

We had Jayden pose at the same spot we did his newborn pics and I love to see the change in him.

We visited the field that we did maternity photos with Mom and Dad that has now been made into a grassy green area.

Jayden’s buddy Nolan with his Mom and Dad.

Jayden hanging out with his friend Nolan.

I love the “ooooh” face that Jayden is giving us in this pic.  He’s such a cutie pie.

And last but surely not least my favs from our cake smashing…I love the first one where Jayden is giving us the face basically saying “my Mom doesn’t like me to make messes with my food, this has got to be a trick”  then by the end he’s more like “oh yeah, this is a good time!”.

Adorable – Alexa

She is already 6 months and I cannot believe how much she has grown since I saw her last.  She’s sitting and laughing and even crawling already.  Alexa is definitely developing her own personality and is turning out to be a lovely little girl.  She did great with the clothing changes even with it being a warm day.

Love this hat!  Alexa looks great in it especially with that adorable smile.

Mom noticed how this hat matches up with flower toy.  Very cool indeed.

Isn’t this the most adorable little sailers outift?

Love how cute this pic is.

Alexa playing with some of her teddy bears.

Right before I headed out we put Alexa in the angel outfit.  She definitely wears it well.

Love – Ariana & Joseph

It was another fantastic day here in Edmonton and perfect for Ariana and Joseph’s wedding.  This was the first time that Omari headed off  before me to meet up with the boys as there were going to The Boardroom for a professional shave a little later I met up with the girls as they got ready at the Coast Edmonton East Hotel in Sherwood Park.  We all got together at St. Johns Ukranian Orthodox Cathedral for a beautiful Ukranian ceremony where it was a joining of English and Ukranian heritage.  Afterwards we headed off to the Legislative grounds as it is a location that has special meaning to Ariana’s family with her father working there.  We had intentions of doing some photographs inside the building but it was so nice out that we ended up just staying outside and enjoying the greenery.  On the way back to the reception we swung by a Tim Hortons as our couple went through the drive through of course I had to take a few pics.  It was really cute how Ariana got out of the vehicle and crouched by the mic to make sure she was heard.  The reception was really beautifully put together and all of the guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves.  The speeches by the fathers were so touching and of course I even had a few tears.  I loved how the audience serenaded our couple with a Ukranian balad!  It was beautiful.  After the main first dances we were all entertained by the Shumka Dancers as Ariana’s family has been apart of the organization for many, many years.  There were around 30 dancers who preformed and they were nothing less than amazing!  It was fantastic fun to watch them do a free-style dance later in the evening in which they incorporated the bride and groom in a few of their stunts.  We loved getting to know this couple and are proud to call them our newest friends. We wish them the very best as they head back to the cruise ships where they work.

Such a cool bridal party – they did some great posing for us.

Ariana and Joseph are adorable.

They are obviously in love.

I love this pic of them walking away from us.

The Rolls was a very important part of the day for our English groom.

They look so sweet during their first dance.

And of course a quick peek at a few of the highlights from their day…

Adorable – Rylan

Sweet little Rylan is now 3 months old!  He did a great job posing and going through clothing changes for us. Then he was just so exhausted that he fussed himself to sleep which was great cause I love sleeping baby pics. Time is just zooming by and watching this years crop of little ones grow is just an amazing experience.  Thank you for sharing this precious time with me.

Looking so grown up in his jeans standing by Mommy and Daddy.

A little sweet pea for sure, he fit in the pod perfectly.

A future soccer star?  We’ll have to wait and see.

Adorable family!

So peaceful.

Love You Rylan!

Love – Kimberly & Lee

The weather prediction wasn’t great but it turned out to be a fantastic day.  Kimberly and Lee had an amazing early morning ceremony at the Hotel MacDonald followed by a brunch reception.  It was fun to do this kind of switch up on the day and the guests really enjoyed the change.  The ceremony was really filled with all kinds of special moments as they had a memory box ceremony in which they locked away their favorite bottle of wine along with a love letter for eachother not to be opened until their 25th anniversary.  Next the mothers were invited up to participate in a sand ceremony where they laid the base of sand for Kimberly and Lee to add their sand on top.  As this portion finished the waiters entered into the room with Mimosas for all to toast the bride and groom.  All of these extra little touches really made this ceremony quite memorable.  We enjoyed seeing alot of the family again that we had initially met at Kim’s brother’s wedding, Marc and Hinke are doing very well and we enjoyed chatting with them a little at the reception.  We also enjoyed meeting Lee’s family from England who had made the trip over the ocean to the celebration. We thank Sharon and Jaime with “Abride Within” wedding planning for helping our couple put this special event together and helping to eliviate the stress. After the brunch we got the family and bridal party together and headed outside for photos. A little later made our way over to Starbucks for some coffee before finishing up with our photo session.  This was the first time we were told that we weren’t able to take any pics in the Starbucks and it was weird cause we have taken photos before in the very same location a number of times.  It definitely wasn’t an issue though as we captured so many great moments for Kim and Lee.  They finished off the day with a family dinner at Murrieta’s on Whyte Ave.  Thank you so much for including us in your wedding plans.  We enjoyed spending this special day with the both of you.

The bridal party was great – we were all singing “we’re off to see the wizard” during this photo as we had them skipping along.

The temperature didn’t read as high as it actually felt this day.  We did enjoy the sunshine though.

Dancing in the back alley…yeah it’s an everyday occurance you know…and these guys look great doing it too.

So cute togther.

On their way back to the hotel to get ready for their family dinner.

And finally a small peek into their day:

Excitement – Aliisa & Bryan

They are fun and quirky and it was such a pleasure to photograph them. We know their wedding next year is going to be a blast as they just have such a great way with each other. This is one of our first engagement sessions that we were able to photograph at the Devonian Botanic Garden. It’s different than a wedding because you just don’t need to be careful like when your working around a wedding dress. Alissa and Bryan happily climbed rocks and sat in wierd places for us and it was great. This was the session that we were sure it was going to rain, we waited for it to happen, clouds sure looked like they were ready to leak anytime and it just never did.  Omari still regrets not chasing down the storm as these guys were going to happily dance in the rain for us.  Thank you for sharing your joy and love with us Alissa and Bryan! Look forward to seeing you soon to view the rest of the images.

I love how they were fine going right out on the rocks for us.

Aren’t they just soo cute!

They are definitely in love as the looks that pass between them are awesome.

Love this reflection on the lake.

There is  a small ledge on the bridge and this shot just turned out great using it.

Everyone wants a pic ringing the bell but we just thought it would be cooler to stick them both in it!
